Advances in computers led to solutions of various complex engineering problems. The finite element method (FEM) is the best available for numerical solution of many engineering problem. Researchers have applied FEM as tool to solve various problems such as fluid flow, heat transfer, magnetic field analysis and structural analysis. In order to be an effective analysis tool, it may be based on theories and techniques from three different disciplines.


The Programme

This course is one week short term training programme sponsored by ISTE and AICTE for college teachers.


Course Outline

                     Basics of finite element method

                     Elements and Shape functions

                     Variation principle for FEM

                     One Dimensional FE Analysis

                     Application of FEM for plane stress and strain problems

                     Finite element for dynamics

                     Finite Element applied to pressure vessel, fluid flow, heat transfer



Course will be conducted by the faculty of Engineering College Kota and experts inte field of FEM

Sponsored teachers of AICTE recognized Engg. College and working professionals.


Registration Fees

No registration fee from the sponsored teachers of AICTE approved institutions. Other working professionals have to pay Rs. 3000/- per participant. Fee includes course fee and working lunch and tea.


Boarding and Lodging

All teachers of AICTE approved degree/diploma level technical institutions will be provided boarding and lodging facilities, as per ISTE guidelines.


Traveling Allowances

The sponsored participants from AICTE approved institutions are eligible for TA/DA as per ISTE-AICTE rules.


General Information

Kota situate on the bank of Chambal river is well connected by rail and bus service with all parts of India and is located on Delhi-Mumbai Broad Gauge. The Institute is 10 Kms from the railway station. The temperature in December is around 25oC during day and 10oC at night. Winter clothing will be needed.

How to Apply

Applicants from AICTE-recognized colleges are required to submit their application sponsored by their respective colleges. They may use the photocopy of the form. A deposit of Rs. 300/- by demand draft drawn in favor of Coordinator-AICTE STTP Course on FEM, payable at Kota, should accompany each application. The amount will be refunded to those not selected and to those selected and who attend the course in full, at the end of the STTP. Please note that the number of seats for the course is limited to 30 and selection will be on the basis of first come first serve. Applications by email are accepted subject to the condition that participant have to send sponsorship certificate with deposit within a week.
